It is one of the major landmarks of the island of La Gomera – the natural monument Los Organos, the organ pipes in the north which can only be seen from the seaside.

This marvel of nature is, due to its enormous proportions and its uniformity, one of the most significant symbols of the island. The name „The Organ Pipes“ comes from its extremely uniform shape reminiscent of precisely this musical instrument.

A huge natural work of art
The huge basalt columns are so special mainly because of their uniformity. The rock massif with its altitude of about 80 meters and a width of 175 meters is very impressive.
This nature artwork was created from volcanic magma which cooled very slowly, thus these uniform columns emerged, which during the cooling process the rocks then shrunk together. The rest did the sea, because over time erosion exposed the monument as we can see it today.
And the erosion by the sea and the wind goes on and so the monument changes. For example because the sea, which is quite wild in the north of La Gomera, often hits strongly against the rocks some parts have broken away.
The view is denied from the landside
This artwork of nature can be viewed only from the seaside. There is no possibility to get a glimpse at Los Organos from the shore. Therefore the boat trips to Los Organos are so interesting for many visitors of La Gomera.
With the Speedy the tour to Los Organos and back to Valle Gran Rey takes about 2 hours. During the tour our guests onboard get a good look at the entire north coast of the island. During the tour we will pass by green, wide valleys, palm groves, secluded bays and beautiful rock formations.
The Speedy boat can approach the rocks of Los Organos very closely and therefore one can capture the impressive size from the bottom of the basalt columns.
